GIS Team Leader

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the GIS Team Leader will ensure geographic information services are delivered appropriately and effectively in Council’s complex and diverse environment, and ensuring these services support Council’s changing business needs by being innovative and proactive.

This role will be accountable for leading a high performing GIS  team through coaching and mentoring and provide guidance and advice across the business on technical GIS matters. This role is all about implementing and continually improving service delivery policies, processes and systems in order to provide effective, efficient and seamless customer services.

About You

  • A tertiary degree in Geographic Information Systems or related discipline.
  • At least 5+ years experience working in the GIS industry, GIS Systems Administration preferable.
  • Proven ability and knowledge of managing a GIS team.
  • Ability to lead the delivery of cost effective Geographic Information Systems.
  • Proven ability and knowledge of ESRI products, in particular ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Sound knowledge of Council business and policy, with particular regard to land and property information, asset management and Resource Management Act.
