The Role

As part of the Property and Infrastructure team the Infrastructure Engineer will provide assistance to the Chief Engineer to ensure infrastructure designs are constructed appropriately in accordance with the QLDC Code of Practise, NZS4404:2010 and relevant codes and standards.

The Infrastructure Engineer will ensure QLDC vested infrastructure operates as expected and any issues arising are resolved to ensure this occurs. This role takes full responsibility to resolve matters relating to 3 Waters and roading infrastructure assets as required. 

About You

The successful candidate will have strong technical, analytical, verbal and reporting skills.  Sound knowledge of the NZS 4404: Land Development and Subdivision Infrastructure Standard, the Resource Management Act and the Local Government Act, effective time management and project management skills and experience, and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external staff and stakeholders and gain their respect and trust will be essential for delivering world-class outcomes in this role with the scope to innovate.  

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Dip Engineering
  • 10 years’ minimum relevant experience within infrastructure planning  and project delivery
  • Sound Knowledge of GIS or similar integrated information system
  • Capacity to demonstrate empathy and patience with a wide variety of people and situations
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Well-developed commercial skills.
