Due to a period of sustained significant growth in the Queenstown Lakes District we now have an exciting career opportunity available for a Land Development Engineer assessing engineering specifics of proposed land development works.

As part of our Planning and Development Team, this is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, and to really make a mark ensuring the quality of the District’s land development is appropriate and sustainable for the future. 

The Planning and Development Team plays a vital role in helping manage significant growth in a way that delivers high quality and professional services for residential, commercial and industrial projects across the district.  We need highly capable, experienced people across a broad range of skill sets to complement our existing team so that our Resource Management Engineering assessments and practices lead to privately developed infrastructure that provides high-value, long-term and low-risk outcomes for the community we serve and safeguard. 

What we’re looking for

Our ideal candidates will be vibrant, willing to make a difference and believe in, care about and take responsibility for what they do.

If you have experience in land development/subdivision engineering, resource management engineering reporting, or are willing and able to learn then this could be the job for you. We are seeking candidates who ideally bring:

  • Sound knowledge of the land development industry
  • Knowledge of 3 Waters’ reticulation systems, roading and land management
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a positive team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships across a broad range of stakeholder
  • Relevant qualifications in Surveying, Engineering or a similar discipline.
