Monitoring and Enforcement Officer

Do you have what it takes to be the best and make a difference in your community?  The Queenstown Lakes District Council is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Monitoring and Enforcement Officer to join the Regulatory Team in Queenstown.  This position provides the opportunity to be involved in planning and development activities, within one of the fastest growing districts in New Zealand.  

 

Whether you are new to the planning industry, a graduate (with a relevant tertiary qualification), or experienced in this field, this role has the scope to accommodate and develop your skills in a progressive and future focused Council.

 

The key purpose of this role is to monitor compliance with resource consent conditions and the District Plan, while assisting with enforcement of all Council legislation.  You will be required to respond to customer queries, undertake site assessments, identify appropriate actions, manage databases, and produce timely, proactive information and reports.  The Monitoring and Enforcement Officer will work closely with other council departments including the Planning and Development team.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in planning or resource management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to present topics to the public, professionals and meetings.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, achievement-oriented and innovative professional
