Who are we?

Alpine Health and Fitness is based within the Queenstown Event Centre complex. Our aim is to encourage the local community to get ‘more active, more often’ and our fitness team plays a vital part in that mission.

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic motivator with a passion for fitness and helping others thrive to reach their fitness goals. This is a permanent, part-time role with a minimum of 12 hours per week over weekends and evenings.

About You

The Gym Instructor is responsible for positively influencing customer behaviour, assisting members with the safe use of equipment and creating a secure and enjoyable environment for all. The provision of excellent customer service and the ability to form and maintain good relations with colleagues and customers is key to this role.

The Gym Instructor is also responsible for ensuring members are aware of additional events. To assist with retention of memberships and sale of new memberships, ensuring the department reach and/or exceed their sales and retention targets.

The successful candidate will have 1+ years’ experience in the supervision of gym activities and knowledge of Health and Fitness facility activities. A background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education or related field is also preferred. In addition to this experience you will have:

  • A current NZQA affiliated First Aid Certificate. Unit standards 26551 & 26552 (preferable)
  • High School NCEA or Bursary (minimum level of education required)
  • New Zealand Certificate in Fitness Level 3 or higher

AHAF is a 7 day a week operation, rostered shifts will involve some early starts, late finishes and weekend hours.
