Employing over 350 staff, the Queenstown Lakes District Council is at the heart of the community, managing infrastructure development; community recreational facilities and planning, building and other regulatory services.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is ready to work in a challenging, fast-paced work environment. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the Planning & Development department to facilitate the efficient operation of the organisation.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Proven experience in an administration role
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a range of desktop applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to effectively multitask
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to use discretion, experience handling confidential information
  • Demonstrated experience in process/system improvement
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly motivated, achievement-oriented and innovative professional
