The Role

We are looking for either an Engineer or Planner to fill this crucial role within our Strategy and Performance team. This role is responsible for investigating and applying technical infrastructure solutions (transport) to ensure infrastructure is optimised and meets the needs of the District. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of significant multi-agency projects related to the Master Planning of both Queenstown and Wanaka. We are ideally looking for someone who can work full-time but do have some flexibility so whatever your situation, give us a call!

About You

The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable solving problems and making decisions. Strong interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills and the ability to multi-task will be essential to the success of this forward thinking role.

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years’ relevant experience is desirable however we are open to talking with you if you think your background is right
  • A strong understanding of transport planning and systems, business case processes, urban planning policies, local government legislation, council practices and constraints
  • Excellent people and communications skills and a strong customer ethos
  • A highly motivated, achievement-orientated and innovative professional
